Safe Holi Campaign

Water Conservation and Eco-Holi Campaign in W. Champaran, Bihar and Lucknow, UP

Safe Holi campaign in Lucknow and West Champaran happened in its various colours. More than 500 students participated in the campaign in Lucknow and in West Champaran-7293 students from 22 schools prepared 54 kgs of eco-friendly Holi colours.

 

Attitudinal Survey of preferences in Holi colours and how much water to be consumed during Holi Festivities at D.A.V Pushpanjali, Delhi.

An interesting survey teacher Ms. Monika Grover carried out with D.A.V Pushpanjali first graders for their preferences in colours and water consumption for Holi celebrations. More than 70 percent said that they preferred natural colours over chemical colours and more than 50 percent said they preferred using only a bucket of water! read more...

 

Faces of Climate Change-Environmental Photography Workshop and competition

Fifty students from four schools attended an environmental photography workshop in CEE Ahmedabad on 14th April 2013. Students learnt the basics of photography along with the issue of climate change and are now on assignment clicking photos on the theme ‘The Faces of Climate Change’ in their local context. read more...

 

 

Climate Change resource in Hindi

CEE North has joined hands with DLA Group of Publication under its Paryavaran Mitra initiative. Under the association, CEE as knowledge partner will contribute one page fortnightly features on environmental issues and concerns for the DLA newspaper. Launching the Paryavaran Mitra-Young Leader for Change 2013
Inviting action plans from students of class 6-10 for carrying out exciting action projects to address local environmental issues. Students will be guided by the team at CEE and mentored by 2012 alumni in all their efforts. Students completing their action projects get nominated for the Paryavaran Mitra Best Student Award at the Puraskar and several other national and international opportunities to showcase their work. E-Paint your way to a nature camp

The “Water Connects”campaign for schools connects the World Wetlands Day (February 2), World Water Day (March 22) and Earth Day (April 22) as all the days are connected to water issues also including the effects of Climate Change. It is also the United Nations-International Year of Water Co-operation. Schools are encouraged to involve students in E-painting which means painting a picture electronically using a software like MS Paint, or others, on the theme, Water Connects. You can get to know more about the topic from the reading resources on the Water Connects page along with the detailed guidelines. The prizes include nature camp vouchers to exciting destinations in India. Read more about the nature camps here. The deadline for the campaign is April 22nd.

 

Earth Day@CEE
CEE Ahmedabad is organising the 'Earth Day@CEE' on Sunday 21st April 2013. The event is in collaboration with the Earth Day Network 2013 'Face of Climate Change' and the Times of India 'My City, My River' Campaign. Several competition are being organized on both the themes for students and their families.

 

World Heritage Day Online Quiz
Tomorrow is World Heritage (18 April). Visit the page on the Paryavaran Mitra website on action project ideas and also to attempt the online quiz.
