Winner Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar 2023
Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar (Awards) has been initiated by CEE as part of its Paryavaran Mitra initiative. The award aims to recognize the exemplary leadership shown by schools, teachers and students in encouraging Handprint actions. This is an annual award process, which invites entries from schools, teachers, students on the basis of the criteria (benchmarks) that focuses on encouraging schools, teachers and students to reflect and see the teaching and learning process from a competency perspective. Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar 2021 Due to covid situation since 2020, schools were required to change their normal teaching learning processes and have moved to online platforms. CEE has been working with schools, teachers and students to implement several initiatives focused on EE and ESD where students have taken exemplary Handprint actions in guidance of their teachers and support from the schools.
School Award
This award is for schools that have shown Exemplary leadership in encouraging Handprint actions at school level engaging its stakeholders. The Puraskar every year sees entries from a variety of schools from all over India who have provided immense support to teachers to give their students real life experiences, evident in the classroom activities and action projects teachers have been able to design showing clear curriculum linkages across subjects and benefits to the community and the environment.
Teacher Award
Teachers reflect on their teaching practices and what their students are learning through project based learning. Teacher report on the handprint actions, which present examples of how project based learning, has been applied by establishing curricular linkages across subjects. They have worked to make the school environment a living learning space for their students with support from the school management, teachers, non-teaching staff, and parents.
Student Award
Student’s engagement to understand environment and sustainability concerns and initiation of Handprint action is an important step in project-based learning. For this award, students reflect on their work and the skills they gained for life while doing these projects.
Teachers and students across India can send their entries for the PM Puraskar through their schools. The schools must be enrolled in any of the programmes linked to Paryavaran Mitra Initiatives.
The applications will be considered for the work done during the period of 2019-2021 by lead student/teacher on any theme/subject related to Handprint actions taken towards restoration/conservation of nature and natural resources. The work/project should be connected with the sustainability education and reflects tangible results and concrete learning outcomes.
The applicant should enclose the relevant evidences of their project/activities in the form of photos/videos as annexures and attach with the application.
